The party arrives in the forest the Gentle Grove. Here they find, changing rapidly, the greens, blues and gorgeous colors around them turn rotten, bleak, brown and dead. The floral grounds and thick bushes become squishy, oily and slushy.
A arc'd rock formation catches their attention. Upon inspection, this arc of carved stones was a portal at one point. If the party investigates for a little while, scuttling sounds can be heard from the bushes around. A few Chuuls attack the party (about... 5?). A fight ensues.
An arcana check will tell the party that with an hour of inscribing and casting a fifth level spell at it or higher, the stonen contraption will be reactivated.
Then, the party can head to the holy site proper. There is a clearing around the main massive lake (about 50ft in diameter). There is ground over the lake, leading to a central shrine in the middle of the Lake.Upon treading over the pathway towards the center. A voice will chime out from the deep. Echoing and endlessly dark. The voice asks why they visit him. Stating its name is Olvuruz, the endless.
He will invite them to join them in the deep. Asking why serve these fake gods, these self obsessed fake idols if they can be the idols themselves. Following him will offer all of that and more.
As the battle starts, he will attempt to pull them in the water using his lair abilities and chuuls that are around.
Battle:
1 Aboleth
2 chuuls
6 Skums
The chuuls will also swarm the party and attempt to drag them in the water with them.
The water is exceptionally dark. Creating a pitch black environment for those without light. It will weave in and out of close combat to hit the party with its tentacles and tail.
