Research of Gatesilver Begins

Gatesilver, a metal used in the Gates, is first mined and researched.

In the world of Ranghir, the dwarves of Helderath began an ambitious project to mine deeper than they had ever gone before. This new mine would go as far down as it possibly could, in an attempt to find out what is beneath their world, and possibly a new home once the current caverns were to overpopulated. In this mine they found a heavy, silver metal that burned to the touch. This was extracted and sent off to Lihiri's Silvae faction to be researched, specifically to Imhet. It was found to be the same metal used in the Gates and could transfer magic to be used in mechanical transport and machines. This is widely known today, but only the rich have access to this precious metal and it's uses.
