Session 20 - A Kadmeian Homecoming
General Summary
Whether it is due to the party not wanting to stop the merriment , or because they had other business to attend to, the party decided to spend more time in the city of King Minos.
During this time, Polydoros spoke with the party, seeking to have each of them agree to join him in retaking the throne from Pentheus, ruler of Rabdos, the one who allegedly killed Dionysus. After getting their confirmation, he prepared a boat to return to the port city of Ormos. The party, Polydoros, his honor guard, Zagreus, his party-goers, and the sailors made their way to the port city.
During the trip, the mast broke, but was repaired, and the seas somehow still carried the party to their distination. Before arriving on shore, Polydoros asked the party to infiltrate the city, gather information, and determine when and how they should approach the city of Rabdos. Upon exiting the ship, Pyro and Xenobia immediately asked the nearest soldier where they could go to find the body of Zagreus.
The satyr and centauride quickly made haste in running from the guard, when they realized that the guard was working for Pentheus (even if he, maybe, held some sympathy for the cult of Dionysus). Pyro took the form of a horse, and the two ran to a barricade, where they stopped. The guard manning the barricade spoke to Xenobia, who failed to convince them to let them pass. Instead, they were taken to Rabdos, to speak to Pentheus.
Meanwhile, the rest of the party (except Dionysis and Polydoros, along with their entourages) used the distraction of Pyro and Xenobia to exit the city from another side, and make their way into the graveyard. It was on the road that Theresa] explained what had happened here in Ormos to Candid. In the graveyard, they found a cave entrance, recently blocked with stones, that may provide the resting place of Zagreus, or a base of operations for his cult. However, with the graveyard watched by guards, and Xenobia and Pyro missing, they needed decide what they should do next. They decide to proceed to Spyridon's estate, to fulfil the pledge they made to him in Hades.
