A DISPLACED PEOPLE IN YOUR WORLD

Centuries ago an entire culture of people were beset by a multitude of sudden and devastating attacks that seemed to target every aspect of their culture. In a matter of weeks the entire continent was not only destabilized but nearly destroyed entirely. Initially the attacks were mistaken as seperate events; unfortunate events but nothing that can't be easily handled - individually. As the outlandish events continued to escalate - a strange sickness in the northern quarter, then a drought right before the major harvest season. Labourers were needed but many were worried about the spreading illness which led to crops rotting in the fields and a huge loss of food stuffs for the winter.
This continued for several weeks before the people began to realize their leaders had no idea what was causing these unprecidented disasters. Peaceful consern lasted among the population for mere days before the riots and looting began. Many fled into the wilderness, alone or with families, hoping to escape from the inevitable chaos ahead. Most didn't survive long enough to see the coming destruction.
Once the Eiyudi people were scattered and there was no cohesive structure left among the people, burning mountains began to fall from the sky. Only those lucky or prepared managed to escape the continent alive and many of these still got lost or starved while drifting across the ocean. According to the historical tales there was a massive storm that blasted out like a tide from the homeland they'd so recently left behind. The storm chased them, savagely for weeks while they fled. Eventually they found land, a glittering coast of pristine sands and plants they'd not seen before. Finding shelter in caves rather than try finding a safe place on the surface where they wouldn't freeze, the people found massive caverns and huge underground grottos teeming with life.

For several weeks the people scoured as much of the shoreline as they could, hoping for other survivors or at the most grim useful wreckage. Ever since then the Eiyudi people have lived beneath both the coast and the storm and believing that they must've somehow caused the catastrophe that doomed their continent.
