King’s Guard
Formerly devoted soldiers of the King’s, the dishonorable defeats he lead them to against the Horrors outside the walls have driven a wedge between the King and the King’s Guard. While neither side has seen to take their conflict public, rumors of the disagreement has nevertheless spread. There’s even rumors that Lord Darian has considered outright taking the throne from King Jeremiah, but is worried that what little legitimacy the throne has would be shattered if he was to do so.
Renowned for their greatswords and their disciplined fighting unity, the King’s Guard can cross blades with any fighting force known to man and emerge victorious. Standing 300 strong, they are also the most numerous military force in the city and have equipment of highest quality. Most King’s Guard members are inducted into the order at age 7 as squires and camp helpers, studying under more senior members to prepare them for entering into combat service at age 12 as ranged support and full membership at 16.
