Dr. Du Tousaing
Dr. Du Tousaing is a brilliant geneticist who resides in the city of Highstorm and is aligned with Zenith. Dr. Tousaing specializes in developing new treatments for rare diseases and is known throughout Kenos for their cutting-edge research and her willingness to take risks in pursuit of new breakthroughs. This puts them in a rather sharp ethical rivalry with Dr. Julia Melnik of Meridian, but Dr. Tousaing will argue passionately and persuasively that risks are necessary with things like genetic diseases.
Born into a family of scientists, Dr. Tousaing is a second generation Kenosian and was exposed to the world of genetic research from a young age because they’re the product of genetic research. Their parents successfully managed to cure a common genetic disease that afflicts their people and causes them drastically short lifespans. After their parents passed from the disease, they attended The Gilden Academy of Medical Sciences, where they excelled in their studies and quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the most respected researchers in the field.
Dr. Tousaing's work focuses on developing new treatments for rare genetic diseases that have previously been considered untreatable. They are known for their innovative approaches to gene therapy and her willingness to experiment with cutting-edge techniques in pursuit of new breakthroughs. Dr. Tousaing will often interrogate Shard-Bearers for hours to learn as much as they can about the technology of their world and to see if it’s at all possible to replicate in Kenos.
Despite their success, Dr. Tousaing remains humble and dedicated to their work and to Zenith's mission. They believe that the pursuit of knowledge and the betterment of people are intrinsically linked, and they works tirelessly to advance both causes in their work so that the next world might be more free of the suffering of disease.
