Pirate Queen Jomay (a.k.a. Scourge of the Seas. The Black Queen)
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Jomay was born to wealthy ore traders on the Isle of Aesry Surlaenis'a in 176, a set of parents who did not want her and did not have time for the burdens of parenting. She was subsequently shipped away at the age of 4 to be cared for at Thornhill House in Zoluren, ostensibly to become a warrior monk and a sister of the Sisterhood of the Ivory Thorn.
During a routine excursion, she jumped ship in 190 on the Isle of Ratha, where she met a (much older) Jourok, who had also jumped ship from his posting with the Baron's Own Militia. The two had a whirlwind romance, and were married sometime in late 190 or early 191.
Harboring a deep desire to make a name for herself, Jomay convinced her new husband to become a pirate, and they began joining small pirate crews, where they quickly worked their way to the co-captaincy of the Dynamo. Sometime around 196, they began consolidating many of the ships and crews under a single banner, forming the organization now known as the Red Sash Pirates.
Jomay's life as Queen of the Reshal Sea was short lived, however, as pirate hunters from all the nations were dispatched to deal with the growing threat to commerce; in 199, she was killed while serving as the captain of a prize crew on a newly-captured Therengian vessel she was attempting to sail to port.
