Karak Angkor
Discovered by miners working around The Fists in 221AV, exploration and documentation of this previously unknown city and culture of Dwarves quickly got underway, led by the Royal Society for the Exploration of the Natural and Physical World.
Demographics
As Karak Angkor was a Dwarfhold, the population was, naturally, limited almost exclusively to Dwarves. Most certainly other races existed within it's walls, but they were by and large a minority peoples.
After the rediscovery of the Hold, the population once again swelled with Dwarves, though a number of non-dwarves continue to make their residence, most of whom are merchants and traders.

Government
Little has been salvaged about the history of the Dwarfholds, or of their government system. What little can be determined is filled with conjecture and countering information from other sources. The only clear idea is that Karak Angkor had a King, who's title is referred to as 'High King' or 'High Chieftain' depending on the source. Whether this was an absolute monarchy or some sort of parliamentary system is, as of yet, unknown.
On the sixth day of the fifth month, 221AV, Prince Roger Vorclaf named High King Beruset Ironfist of the clan Ironfist as the newest High King of the Dwarves, residing in the Karak.

Defences
Massive stone walls have been unearthed, as well as the remains of pillared, gate-like structures. Little else has been discovered so far.
Infrastructure
Much of Karak Angkor is in ruins, after what appears to have been a colossal siege battle with an as of yet unknown force (or forces.) However, extensive mineways and smelteries have been discovered, indicating that the Dwarves focused heavily on metallurgy and smithing.
As the rebuilding has begun, many of the old forges and mineshafts are being reopened, as well as a significant amount of roadways connecting many of the existing districts and streets.
