Taishō (Tie-Shoh)
Literally translated to the common tongue, Taishō means 'Commander-in-Chief of the Forces against the Darkness'; however, in the tongue of the Rock Gnomes, it's meaning is more akin to 'Military Dictator'.
Nominally, the Taishō is appointed by the Emperor, but, in reality, they are the de facto ruler of the Empire, with the Emperor remaining a mystical, distant figurehead.

Qualifications
To be named as Taishō, one must be so appointed by the Emperor. Only His Divine Self determines what qualities make for the best Taishō, and none are fit to question His authority.
Duties
In addition to leading all the armies of the Empire, the Taishō is also the leader of all members of Hagakure, serving as an example of Honor and Duty to all peoples.
In addition, during times of peace, it is the Taishō's responsibility to encourage trade and harmony amongst all his subordinate Hankō and their respective Hans.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
A Taishō is appointed until his death; should he dishonor himself, or lose the approval of his Emperor, he shall remain Taishō only so long as to ritualistically take his own life, and, thus, retain his honor. The stain on his family's honor by being forcibly removed from the position would be too great a curse, lasting for generations.
