Troll's Fjord
Formed by retreating glaciers, most likely even before the time of The Old World, Troll's Fjord is the deepest known of all the fjords of Northguard, with an explored depth greater than six thousand feet; so deep that it exists within absolute darkness, an extremely rare thing on Kermoria.
The shores of the fjord are densely populated with various species of troll, giving rise to it's namesake. The high cliffs and ridges surrounding it's banks are inhabited by cave, rock, and mountain trolls, whereas the banks and shallow areas are filled with river and ice trolls. There are even reports of several dire trolls roaming the area, however, due to the extreme danger of the area, this has never been verified.
The fjord itself is extremely rich in gold, copper, and platinum ores, making it a lucrative, if exceptionally foolhardy, place for miners and prospectors to ply their trade. Each year, hundreds of people travel to Troll's Fjord to make their fortunes, many never returning.

Geography
Steep stone cliffs give way to the fjord's waters, which are frozen for 7-8 months of the year; by the end of the summer months, temperatures at the surface still rarely exceed 45°. Deep channels within the fjord exceed six thousand feet in some places, with their temperatures never reaching above freezing; the pressure of the water column above it being the only reason it does not freeze.
The majority of the cliffs are made of bedrock, leftover from an age long past; these cliffs have eroded over time, creating a mass of ledges and overhangs and caves which are now home to hundreds of bird species, as well as a number of cliff or cave dwelling trolls, who utilize the overhangs as a natural respite from the sun.
The bed of the fjord for many miles is mostly gravel, making it an ideal location for various types of salmon and other fish to spawn their eggs, hiding them within the pebbled bottom. The depths of the fjord have not been fully explored, due in large part to the proximity of a recently-discovered underwater Merrow colony,Rimefyre Depths. This colony appears to have been built adjacent to a field of Hydrothermal vents deep within the fjord, warming (and powering) their city via the geothermic energies released from deep within the earth.

Tourism
Hundreds, if not thousands, of people visit Troll's Fjord each year; most of them are prospectors, panners, and aspiring miners hoping to make a fortune from the gold, platinum, and copper which is found in abundance along the shallower sections of the fjord. Hundreds more, working on contract from places such as the Monstrosity's Menagerie, travel there to hunt the local trolls; troll's blood has an abundance of uses, including regenerative magics and potions.
Many of these people never return, falling victim to the environmental hazards of the Fjord, dying along their trek through Nilfshard Forest or Bloodsnow Valley, or slain by trolls, local barbaric tribes, or other wildlife including several varieties of voracious bears.
Still, the hazards do not deter those who're determined, and thousands of people pass through Skycrag or Winterpyre each year on their way to the Fjord.
