Dvaer - Hill Dwarves Species in Kornax | World Anvil

Dvaer - Hill Dwarves

The Dvaer - often referred to as Hill Dwarves - are the dominant species of the genus nane, at least on the surface of the Material Planes.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Cranium

The cranium of Nani divulgatus is identical to and indistinguishable from that of homo sapiens.

Musculoskeletal

The frame and musculature of the dvaer is distinctive. They have very heavy skeletal structure, despite their short stature, and their skeletons are proportionally wider than that of most other humanoids. Heavy muscles overlay this frame, granting the dvaer greater strength than might otherwise be expected from creatures their size.

Digestive System

The Hill Dwarf digestive system, as is the case among all dwarves, is unusually efficient at filtering toxins. This makes the dvaer resistant to poison. It also is where they gain their legendary capacity to "hold" their alcohol.

Additional Information

Facial characteristics

Dvaer are very hairy, and nowhere is that more apparent than on their faces. Males grow thick facial hair. Some females do, as well.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

The dvaer are either light brown or deep tan in coloration. Their hair is typically black or brown, as are their eyes.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Evolved for a life underground, the dvaer exhibit the ability to see in dim and dark conditions.
