City of New Calemdar
Calemdar City, known as New Calemdar is the current capitol city of the Empire of Korrisia. Established in what many argue is year one of the Age of Heroes, the city is the second capitol in the history of the Republic, after the Burning of Calemdar by Imrys the Darkheart. Originally, the city housed the Republic's Senate House and the Chancellor's Palace, but after Aelzan's overthrow of the Republic, it was kept as the Imperial Capitol.
New Calemdar is a magical and technological marvel, constructed with the most current age of architecture with spells and enchantments to make buildings that would normally be impossible, into reality. Its spires reach high into the skies, and can house thousands. In the center of the city is the Calemdar House of the People, the government center of the city that houses the Senate of Calemdar and the Republic's Council.
Of the many city centers, marketplaces, civic centers, orators, town callers, all manner of people are found. Rivaling Waterdeep, Calemdar City is one of the most welcoming and diverse cities in Korrisia. They say that the market of Calemdar is the Material Plane equivalent to the market in the City of Brass.
Calemdar City is also the headquarters of the Calemdarian Colleges of Magic, the premiere magical college in the whole of Korrisia. The most powerful wizards can draw their heritage to studying in these hallowed halls. The Archwizard looks out from their spire across the entirety of the city, while the Wizard Lords administrate each college, ensuring that the minds of the newest students are fortified and packed with endless arcane knowledge.
