Empire of Korrisia
The Empire of Korrisia, or more simply referred to as The Empire, is a globe-spanning sovereign nation that makes up all of the known land of the Material Plane of Korrisian Space. The Empire is a military dictatorship, with supreme executive power solely in the hands of the Overlord, Aelzan. The Empire was formed through vicious and merciless military movements that conquered all other sovereign nations to exist in the Era of Heroes. This includes the former Kingdom of Arcanum, Republic of Quisalor, Kingdom of Drang, Kingdom of Keoland, City-State of Waterdeep, and the Empire of Alithanar.
The Empire grew from what was known as the Republic of Calemdar, the political superpower of Korrisia. For the many centuries it stood, the Republic saw itself as the defender of freedom and of Korrisia itself, pledging to always raise arms against any enemy be it of the Prime Material or from beyond. Starting as a bloody Emprie, the people of the Republic moved to reform into what was Calemdar in order to stray away from mindless wars against their fellow mortal races. This changed near the end of the Era of Heroes when a great calamity caused the deaths of nearly one-hundred thousand individuals, leaving most nations of Korrisia without standing armies.
Structure
Imperial Hierarchy
The Inner Circle of the Imperial Hierarchy is made up of those who hold the most supreme power in the entirety of the Empire. This includes the Overlord and the Overlord's Archons, who enact the will of Aelzan. Imperial Overlord - Aelzan - Holds supreme power over all, and the Overlord's rule is absoluteArchons
While the Overlord's rule is aboslute, the Empire is too large for Aelzan to directly control everyone. Instead, Aelzan grants authority over different parts of the empire to the Archons, who are, essentially second to Aelzan. Some Archons are governors of provinces or military districts, others control important groups like armies, guilds, or specialized agents. All are people who wield immense power. It is also a title in Aelzan's Hierarchy (the rank immediately and distantly below the Overlord). Every living Archon either swears fealty to Aelzan or lives the nasty, brutish, and short life of a hunted animal. Each Archon is granted limited autonomy over their area of control. As long as they serve Aelzan's goals and do not break any of the Overlord's laws, Aelzan permits the Archons to rule their armies and/or provinces in a manner of their choosing. Because of this, the Archons and the groups they control will often clash with one another. The Archon of Justice, Vilrun the Adjudicator, has created a rank of Judges known as Lawbinders to solve these problems. Now one is entirely sure how Archons gain their strength, some are born into power and privilege whilst others were beggars in the streets before rising to power. The only common thread found throughout all Archons is that they serve Aelzan, or they die. Archons can be removed from power (not just by Aelzan's hand) but actually by those who would challenge them for their seats, known as Exarchs. In the Korrisian Empire, Archons are permitted to lead as they see fit, and no court resembles another. Belief The true measure of an Archon is not their birthright, but their life and achievements. An Archon becomes one through belief. As the future Archon grows confident, those around them may begin to believe in their power and it increases organically. For example, the Archon of War Brutus did not rise immediately. Brutus was originally an illiterate, but talented military leader out of the Northern Territory Militias. His charisma resulted in his ability to assuage the burdens of his soldiers with his mere presence. Extant Archons There are many Archons who bow to the will of Aelzan, including:- Vilrun the Adjudicator [Wizard] (Archon of Justice)
- Brutus [Dragonborn Battlemaster] (Archon of War)
- Azrakai [Yuan-Ti Bard of Secrets] (Archon of Secrets)
- Ryzorin, Blade of Fate [Changeling Rogue] (Archon of Shadows)
- Nerana [Human Bard of Glamour] (Archon of Song) - Responsible as the prime diplomat, agent of peace, and force of inspiration for the people of the Empire. It is said Nerana is a supreme beauty of which rivals all of the Everqueens of Alithanar.
- Pan [Human Sorcerer] (Archon of Ruin) - Dispatched when biological warfare (spreading disease) is required, but is also the foremost physician of the Empire.
- Mother Annabelle [Human] (Archon of Rebirth) - named Archon after manifesting her talents as a force of rebirth. According to folklore, where she walked, plants would sprout, the sick would grow vigorous.

Public Agenda
To bring Aelzan's Peace to every corner of Korrisia.
History
During the Era of Heroes, the Republic of Calemdar was ruled by Chancellor Aelzan, who had narrowly won the election from the Senate, but caused a schism as many saw Aelzan as a threat to the Republic itself. Aelzan moved quickly to secure loyalties of military leaders and land-holding leaders alike, and arrested nearly every member of the Senate, citing that they had committed treason for attempting to halt a perfectly legal election. After the Cult of the Bloody Daggers had revealed themselves and their intent upon the world, Aelzan was voted emergency powers as there was no Senate to assist, and called the banners for every able-bodied soldier in the Republic, but also called upon ancient alliances with the Protectorate of Aracnum. the Thronebreaker, Lord Protector Walkelin saw the Republic of Calemdar as a symbol of democratic freedom accepted the call and raised armies from both Arcanum, but gained assistance from Quisalor and Waterdeep. The coalition armies marched on Old Calemdar, where one of the Underlords of Kormund slept. Upon their arrival, they engaged a massive force of members of the Cult and their demonic allies whom had entered the battle through a massive gate to the Abyss. Coalition forces fought through waves of demons, and eventually had even faced down the Abyssal Lords Demogorgon and Yeenoghu. After narrowly defeating the demonic forces, the armies gained no respite when Rak Tulkhesh, the Rage of War and Underlord of Kormund had broken free from his prison, and slaughtered the heroes attempting to halt his escape.
Rak Tulkhesh made quick work of the Coalition forces, slaughtering thousands and using his dark magics to corrupt thousands more into turning against one another. After the armies had been utterly destroyed, Rak Tulkhesh stepped through a planar doorway and disappeared. During this titanic conflict, Chancellor Aelzan had moved a secondary force to the Northern Territories and had conquered every free city in the realm. Once the smoke had cleared from the Battle of Old Calemdar, Aelzan declared the Republic dead, and seized all supreme power, reforming into the Northern Empire. Aelzan launched a military campaign that would last only six years before all sovereign nations of Korrisia would bend the knee to the Imperial banner. It was once again that the Empire would reform, this time into the Empire of Korrisia, and Aelzan would be named Imperial Overlord.
