Ealdrhiht
Ealdrhiht is a young Weallander kingdom. It was formed after the cities of Walcaester, Norðanburg and Brymham revolted against Asterian rule when the senate failed to send aid against the Etaikí incursions.
Ealdhriht is a young Weallander kingdom. It was formed after the cities of Walcaester, Norðanburg and Brymham revolted against Asterian rule when the senate failed to send aid against the Etaikí incursions.
The cities that now make up the kingdom were historically petty city states which warred amongst each other for centuries until they were all conquered by Aster in the early 290s. After the Great Calamity, the cities were overrun with refugees from the eastern Asterian territories and plague swept through them. The Etaikí company laid siege to Walceaster and Norðanburg, They requested the aid of the Senate, but none could be given.
Faced with this predicament, the Earl of Walceaster called upon his fellow earls of Brymham and Norðanburg to unite to deal with the mounting crises. Thus the kingdom of Ealdrhiht was formed, with its capital at Walcaester.
The newly formed kingdom, with the help of Vectire, broke the sieges and fought Etaikí to a stalemate. Before its losses could mount, the company board sued for peace and left the lands of Ealdrhiht.
The kingdom finds itself at odds with Etaikí, which still encroaches on its northern and western borders. The kingdom has close ties with Vectir, which found itself in a similar situation after the Calamity. Plague is once again sweeping over the world, and has hit Ealdrhiht particularly hard.
