Physical Description
General Physical Condition
In his younger years, Hamish was something of a punk. He latched onto the punk movement in Europe at a young age and carried much of that style with him when he came to America. He wore his hair in an undercut style that fell into his face (much to his family’s disgust).
Facial Features
Hamish is rather handsome in a rough, punk-ish sort of why. He usually keeps a full beard in varying stages of mountain-manhood, because (he says) his face gets cold without it. He has long features, a somewhat bony nose, and elegant eyebrows most fashion-conscious women would die for.
Identifying Characteristics
While in college, Hamish acquired an almost unhealthy number of piercings, including multiple ear piercings, cartilage, septum, tongue (forward), two through his left eyebrow and one through his right, and bottom lip. Most of these he has allowed to grow over as he's aged, though he does keep the ear and cartilage piercings in good shape.
Special abilities
Hamish is a catalyst, an innately magical human being occasionally compared to living leylines. This both enhances his spellcasting skills and makes him an active target for supernatural creatures both corporeal and less so. Through training, he has learned to minimize his magical footprint through breathing exercises, meditation, and yoga.
Apparel & Accessories
He sticks to flannels and heavy jeans or canvas pants, hiking boots, and Carhartt jackets. When he begins training Maddie as a catalyst, his appearance settles down into more sweaters and t-shirts, regular jeans, and street shoes.

Personal history
Hamish was born in Cardiff, Wales. In 1987, he moved to the United States on a student visa and attended university classes at Purdue Northwest. He left school after multiple ghouls began attacking the dorms he was living in and he was taken into catalyst training by Clive Gerritson. After Clive's death in 1991, Hamish becomes a solo hunter, eventually settling in Nebraska at the Bullseye Pool Hall, where he befriends several regulars including John and Dex Lockard.
