42nd Session
General Summary
The party goes to the ball and it's fancy. They take Crimson, Shalom, Daniel, Skyla and Alle. They brought gifts to the engaged couple including a paint set from Ellie, some Lilies from Caspian, a song about their love from Tasha, a disguise kit, dog toy, blank note with a pencil and easer, word art that says "Time is a River" and dream catcher from Theo a small craved mahogany box from Crimson and a painting from Alle. They learn from the King that time is like a river delta and that the Colonel needs to make "visible progress" before he's allowed to actually marry his princess and that dwarves are very nosy.
Mattis Roco and his cousin Julia Azria are going around giving warning to other Old Ones to only talk about "new" things and save the "old" things for the after party. Ronen Ariza brings a tiny court dog puppy for the princess. He is the one Old One Crimson can get to talk to her as he thinks she's cute.
Theo attempts to talk to Dariana Desmet. She is unimpressed with the mortal interrupting her conversation with simple questions about where he could find an economist in 5 years. Obviously the Royal Academy of Time in the Horace under the discipline of economics and finance.
An aarakocra in lime green livery appears with a cowbell and gifts of cookies and a 300 year old mini fig tree in a pot to the couple from her Aunt Aroa and Uncle Rosendo before switching into Ancient and giving gifts of fancy silks apparently from the Sullen Reaper and some sort of bowl sent from apparently the Keeper of Motion.
Theo gets pulled aside by Raul Mardrid and asked to gather his friends and follow Raul. He does so and they end up in a separate room somewhere talking to Alvis Aponte, the king's advisor. He tells them he has a confidential and sensitive job for them, that they are not allowed to tell anyone about, not the King nor Colonel. They're nervous, but accept.
He tells them at Raul was contacted by a blackmailer who claims to have information that Colonel Stoneface has a 2 year old son. It's a ridiculous accusation that will easily be disproven. He would have ignored it, had it not occurred at such a sensitive time with such potential to hurt the princess. Ellie casts zone of truth with Alvis's permission and confirms that he is not trying to undermine or hurt either the King or Colonel, he just wants to sweep this under the rug for now and address it at a better time. It would be a bad look to have official agents running around with blackmailers. He gives them a box and tells them to find a certain person in a certain tavern and give him the box. With the zone truth, Alvis asks them how they managed to get the two love birds together.
Raul takes them back to the party and a Lashianer noble man is being dragged out for making a commotion with his disapproval of Old Ones. Daniel had disppeared for the night, but the rest of the party goes well and ends with literal fireworks.
