Abesko

Currency: Gold Crowns

Abesko is a small community in the middle of Eldenora. It has avoided the depredations of civil war that has wracked that country, but it has the primary responsibility to support Fort Skillet , to the north. Because of this, most baronies have avoided Abesko as a target of little importance to hold and a major responsibility to bear.

Since Loghain became responsible for Fort Skillet and then Abesko, Abesko has experienced an intellectual and mercantile revolution. The leadership of Baron Loghain and the inventions of Nithewin has cemented Abesko as a secure trading path through the country and as a bulwark against Delden.

In the middle of town, near the Civic building, is an announcement board for small projects needed by the Barony. It is covered with listings for things that need done, and the payment that private partis can expect to be paid by the Barony. The listings include any number of mundane altruistic duties, volunteer opportunities, as well as more dangerous needs that would require the services of Adventuring Companies . Payments for the work done here are disbursed by Exchequer Samson Hillel . Administration of the board itself is handled by the priests of Morrow stationed in @Abesko, Fathers Yuri Tinshiv and Mark Chenks .

Visitors to Abesko will first note hot air balloons that patrol the skies and use signal flags to communicate with each other and ground forces. Abesko is surrounded by a 10ft defensive wall, and a set of railroad tracks that lead into stations at four points of the city. These tracks are used to quickly move defensive missile weapons quickly around the village. In addition, the guard in the village are armed with advanced weaponry that enable infantry riflemen to discharge spellfire against attackers.

Just as importantly, Abesko is the most welcoming community in Eldenora to magicians and non-humans. The last 6 years have taught them that magic and their more "stylish" inhabitants are their best defense against the ills that have plagued them for decades.

There is no thieves' guild to speak of in Abesko , though there are a number of freelance criminals with contacts in other baronies.
