BoomPowder and Gunnery

Boompowder  is an alchemical mixture created by the Drodarin, or dwarf . While it has a number of applications in construction, demolitions, and alchemy, it is best known for its use in Gunnery, Bang Sticks , and Boompak s.

BoomPowder is manufactured by the pound by Drodarin, or dwarf facilities.

• Each pound of BoomPowder capable of supporting ten shots of either a pistol or a rifle.
• A pound of BoomPowder has a base cost of 30 Gold Crowns.

Gunnery

The most widely recognized application of BoomPowder is gunnery. The gunners of Bor are famous across the world for their firearms, and the smell of burnt powder. The hero system statistics of the most common firearms are defined below.

Reloading a Firearm

Reloading a firearm is a long involved process, and the total process can take 2.5 phases.

• Preparing/drawing the BoomPowder charge*
• Loading the BoomPowder charge in the firearm
• Preparing/drawing the ballistic shot*
• Loading the ballistic shot in the firearm
• Firing the Gun

BlastPowder Variant

Nithewin created a variant on BoomPowder that works with all associated guns and firearms. This variant technology is referred to as Blastpowder .

Manufacturing

The Drodarin, or dwarf have been creating BoomPowder for so long that its creation has entered into the mundane. Production facilities are worked by mundane staff and the production of BoomPowder is carried out night and day.

The use of BoomPowder is restricted to the Drodarin, or dwarf . The kingdom of Bor jealously guards the secret of BoomPowder production and acts to quell any instances of it from entering the general population.

Complexity

BoomPowder is alchemically complex and requires a skilled alchemist for definition of the production process.

Discovery

For as long as the Drodarin, or dwarf have walked Magnamund, they have used firearms based on boompowder. The actual details of the discovery have been lost to time.
