WraithHunter Rangers
The WraithHunter Rangers is an Eldenoran organization dedicated to facing supernatural threats that exist in Eldenora.
Eldenora is a country that prizes martial prowess, and looks askance at higher learning. As such, it is a country beset by superstitious beliefs. While Eldenora does not face an inordinate amount of supernatural or magical threats, the underlying cultural mistrust of magic means that the country has less of an ability to address such threats. Stepping into the need are the Wraith Hunter Rangers. The rangers grew out of a need in Rioma in MS 5026. A group of soldiers there were tasked with dealing with an influx of Helghasts. After researching and addressing that issue, they were steadily tasked with magical threats in the outlying areas. Eventually, the group formed and fire team and travelled throughout Eldenora addressing magical and supernatural threats. They spread what they knew of paranormal creatures but only rarely enlisted any wizards of any tradition into their ranks. Though they had amassed a great deal of magical knowledge, they remained a group of rogues and warriors dedicated to safeguarding the citizenry of Eldenora.
Their ranks swelled beyond a dozen or so members in MS 5084 when Baron Loghain offered them a home in Abesko . In addition, Loghain 's partnership with Nithewin provided them with better weapons with which to combat supernatural threats. They were the primary agents for field testing Nithewin's Blastpowder pistols. Most rangers carry a pistol as a symbol of their commitment.
The rangers do not have any structured hierarchy, with most being considered equals. When pressed, they will refer to each other as "Ranger" and older members as "Sergeant".
In MS 5092 the WraithHunters have approximately 60 members. Each member is trained in melee combat, Blastpowder weapons, and has at least a working knowledge of paranoramal creatures that haunt Eldenora .
