Heading deeper in, our heroes discover the emaciated shaman. They had prepared for magic, they had not prepared for a change in what they deemed reality. The shamed used a grotesque rod steal energy and strength by aging the party. The austere effect forced them to experience the effect of days without the means of feeding themselves to restore energy. The leaching of life was dire but Valen killing Silug with a blast from the Heritage Torc only allowed them to discover greater horrors.   In the chambers beyond, they found the evidence of a greater horror. In one, the remains of a detritus filled holding pit and empty bent cages meant to hold food for... something. In the other, a dessecrated shrine to some outside entity to the far realm along with a bound ritual circle. Jorg utilized Silug's Siphon to better understand the altar and it drove him temporarily insane, running off to eat the offal in the other room.   Descending further into the caves beneath the keep dungeon, the party found the entity that Silug had summoned from the Far Realm and raise, the creature the ClenchMaws knowingly or unknowingly served, the reason of the otherworldly hunger of the Weedwood. Leaping from a darkened pit, a twenty food froglike abbearation with multiple tenticles and a triple-eyed stalk crashed in front of the party. The final battle soon commenced, half the party from the outside and the others from the inside due to Torinn and Wulfgar quickly getting swallowed.   Only after slaying the beast and resting did the party find themselves in the position to return to the shaman's ritual space with the motivation to break the ritual circle to prevent future service to the Far Realm. Deryn took King Yamarz' armor and Jorg claimed Silug's Siphon for his own. The growing influence of Marnusht, That Which Desires was quelled in the region.
