Cleansing of the Restoration Pool

Delving too far and too fast into Vicugan after the loss of Silug's Siphon, Valen took the brunt of a Neothelid's psionics and was Feebleminded.  The Silver Wardens were forced to turn back to the temple of Sol.  The performed a ritual to purifying the Pool of Restoration from Marnusht's influence and save Valen's mind.

In descending into Vicugan in full force to stop whatever might happen in the center of Marnusht, That Which Desires's influence, the party found themselves in dire trouble. After destroying the iron golem that eternally manufactures goods of the city to the Junun, the party made it into the subterranean parks district. Within what was dubbed Terrorasic Park, the phase spiders that wanted to keep the party for their meal were piddly compared to the great Guardian that prevented passage further.

Emerging from a cave was a humungus psionic worm that lashed with tentacles from it's pincered maw. Through the fight, the neothelid was temporarily tranmuted into a handheld critter. When it came back, however, it unleashed a torrent psychic energy so raw and overpowering that Valen's mind was reduced to that of a child. After the worm was slain, the party returned to the interior city's temple of Sol where Olara instructed the party to direct their cleansing ritual away from the Pool of Communion and toward the Pool of Restoration. Using vast amounts of magics, reagents, and arcane materials, the party managed to reclaim the pool for the light and allow Valen to bathe in it to refresh his mind.
