Shōs-Yai (Sh-oss Ya-eye)

The largest mountain in Kirru and the capital city of the Svanti Empire, and the home of the Eleyai.

Districts

The city is divided into 5 districts, each at different levels of the mountain.
The lowest, the Tree District, is where the more common folk live (although such folks are still quite wealthly by the standards of other cities).
The second district, halfway up the mountain, is the Cliffs District, is the merchant section of the city, where people sell their goods and much of the city trade occurs.
The third district is the Sky District, where the rich merchants and lower-class nobility live, as well as learn their trade.
The fourth district is the Stars District, where high-class nobility and the royal families dwell. Movement into this district is heavily regulated, with the only entrances being a series of guardhouses known as Yahans. The commonfolk cannot enter this level without permission.
The final district lies at the very top of the mountain, where the Grand Temple to Yai, the Grand Temple to Ra, and the Holy Observatory are located. Only the most devout are granted permission to step to this level, except on very specific holy days to perform worship in one of the Grand Temples.
