Ruins of Luca
The creation and resting site of the Demigod, Luca, Queen of the Bekuma. It was once an ancient Svanti Empire laboratory; now it serves as a haven for Bekuma who have fled from the Empire.
Demographics
A vast majority of those who dwell in the Ruins are Bekuma, but some Kirran or others who have incurred the Empires wrath can be found here.
Government
While not recognized by the Svanti Empire, the area is technically considered a kingdom by the Bekuma, with Luca as their queen. However, Luca spends most of their time resting inbetween attempted invasions from the Empire, thus does little ruling. Thus, the area is mostly self-goverened between various groups of the Bekuma that have managed to evade the Empire and make it to the ruins.
Defences
The ruins are constantly bombarded by attacks from the Svanti Empire, and is protected mostly through the actions of Luca, the demigod of the Bekuma, who always pushes the Empire back when they delve to far into the ruins. It is also guarded by the most dangerous of the Bekuma, who have survived the long journey and escaped into the ruins.
Infrastructure
Being constantly attacked by the Empire, the ruins lack much infrastructure, with the Eleyai tearing down whatever the Bekuma manage to build.
Assets
The are very few working things remaining at the ruins, and thus most Bekuma must sneak in and out to gather supplies and food to keep their hidden comrades fed. They have managed to uncover some experimental weapons developed in the early days of the empire, but such items are few and far between.
Guilds and Factions
There are two major factions in the Ruins, one aggressive group who wants to actively hunt and destroy the Empire for their crimes against the Bekuma, while a second, much smaller and more conservative group who simply wants to develop a way to protect themselves from the Empire and live in peace.
History
The Ruins of Luca was once a scientific outpost used by the early Svanti Empire to experiment of human prisoners. While the exact details are classified, the most common belief is that the Eleyai harvested primal wind energy from the Towers of the Winds, and attempted to infuse the humans. This process created Luca, the first Bekuma, whose rage and trauma of the experience ascended her to demigod status. She swiftly used her newfound powers to destroy the facility, massacring the scientist and freeing the experiments. She usually remains there in slumber, periodically awakening to defend the ruins from attempts by the Empire to retake it.
