Inferno 08: "Algidity, Part I"

General Summary

With Asaala being considered for promotion, Alran's subordinates and their Apostles meet in hell to discuss to the robbery of the soul-blade Metorus. Hearing from the Lord of the Sixth that the sword had been stolen, the party makes a plan to retrieve it for themselves. Traveling to the town of Nantwich in Asturas, they find the former owner of the sword hanged, and its location unknown.
After investigating, the party links the sword possibly to the local priest, Hackett, who agrees to part with the blade if it was given to the Children of the Dawn. Marius calls Isabella Kappel to retrieve it with the condition that she allows Marius and the others to siphon souls from it first. While waiting for Isabella, the party speculates that Hackett may have wanted to sell the sword to benefit to benefit a local woman named Val whom he adopted.
