Apostle
An Apostle is an infernal contractor that serves a Devil from the Nine Hells. They typically receive magical power or other boons through a contract in exchange for their soul.
Classification
Typically, becoming an Apostle involves the selling of one's soul to the devil they serve via contract; thus facilitating the Apostle's servitude in both life and death. Once dead, Apostles generally gain many of the traits and powers of a Devil, although still remain outside of the traditional infernal hierarchy. The ambiguity of the Apostle title and position outside the infernal hierarchy are often useful in hiding the power of a Devil's servants - based off title alone, there is no indication of how powerful an Apostle might be.Use
Apostles typically assist their master in the gathering of souls while alive, often performing sacrifices or other assisting in other Devil's work. Once dead, Apostles often prove valuable tools in the political struggle of the Nine Hells, as truly loyal subordinates are often very difficult to come by.
