Inferno 22: "Antipathy, Part III"
General Summary
With Estevan returned home, the shadowy conflict with Maria reaches its climax. In the midst of an ongoing Peloric inquisition into House Extabeltza, the family is gripped by indecision regarding their infernal contract to Tamiko. Striking out on their own, the party meets with Fredrika who offers the party Corpsebloom to finish Maria in exchange for a future favor. Entrusting Viola to deliver the lethal toxin to her aunt, the party waits with bated breath.
Expecting trouble, the party receives good news of the assassination's success from an agitated Viola. With Maria dead, her schemes collapse like a house of cards, resulting in the inquisition against the Extabeltzas being called off after revelations surrounding her blackmailing of the bishop of Barcera. The party retreats to Kappel's Abbey to celebrate their successes with the Extabeltza's political prospects now secured.
