Materia 24: "Ice and Fire"
General Summary
Heading to Metia to help Licina confront the sins of her past, the party encounters a number of confused adventurers who appear to have lost track of themselves, and the passage of time. Investigating further, the party finds themselves traveling to the Hall of Memories, a confounding portion of Metia that provokes hallucinations, nearly luring Hanako into being slain by a mind flayer.
Breaking the illusion and fighting their way through the mind flayer colony, the party confronts the colony's elder brain, which has kept Licina's children hostage. With the brain soon severely wounded, it flees to a different plane, leaving behind the victorious group. Finding Licina's children incapacitated after being forced to create a summoning circle for a draconic god, the party escapes and returns to Teikyou.
