Materia 39: "Raise Your Weapon"
General Summary
Inside a dream, Yvri is tempted by Asmodeus to become a full-blooded Dragon. Meeting with Viseri, plans for an evening duel are layed out to settle the matter of his and Khatar's duel claims. Yvri splits with Viseri to meet the Dragonslayer Pyria Farra, Khatar's champion, and agreeing to a fair fight with a personal wager to share a drink thrown in.
Tension between Hanako and Myriell increase over a poor choice of words, and her and Mari grow increasingly worried over the possibility of Myriell taking a deal with the Dark One to steal the Raven's Key. As Yvri and Mari head to the duel, Hanako opts to follow Myriell as she slips from the palace, only to make her way to the Sunless Temple, where she warns the clergy of the Raven Queen and breaks down crying at the thought of not being able to see her mother alive again. Hanako comforts her, bringing her back to the palace before heading to the duel.
Meanwhile, Yvri's duel begins, and roaring crowds begin to cause chaos, freeing imprisoned around the arena; Hanako returns, and a free-for-all begins. Yvri and Pyria truce at a decisive moment to help turn the tide of battle in the favor of the Solites, with Mari and Hanako assisting. With the local threats vanquished, Yvri deals a final blow to bloody Pyria, winning the duel and Khatar's support. The two duelists quickly escape to indulge in eachother in Aiwin Thedan's guest room, uncovering confirmation of Fumihiro's treason in the process. Aiwin visits the party via a possessed passerby and promises a final confrontation in Erenthas and cuts magic ties between the city and Ishllond. With a sandstorm preventing travel for the time being, the party enjoys some well-earned rest.
