Solens Födelse
The Solens Födelse, or simply Solenfold, is an annual celebration that happens all around Människar to commemorate the beginning of Spring, a symbol that the worst of the cold is over and that warmer months will begin. It does not have a fixed date; instead, the first full moon of March marks the holiday.
Celebration
All around the continent, different cultures and kingdoms celebrate the Solenfold differently: For the southern nations¹, where the winter is milder and the wilds less dangerous, small festivals that last a day or two might be arranged, while townsfolk visit inns and taverns to drink for the holiday, seeing it more of an excuse for leisure rather than a meaningful date; however, the further north one goes, the holiday takes a completely different significance, as Trerian clans and some Thortyr villages might prepare for the festival many weeks ahead, eager for the so expected end of winter.
Execution
For most central kingdoms, celebrations usually involve the construction of large, open marketplaces and pyres, with tourneys being arranged in big cities.
