About Junstol
Junstol is a village situated far in the east of the Republic of Dezaria. It has a population of around 500 people, including its surrounding area. Like many places in the Republic, it is diverse in terms of races.
It is sustained mainly by the sheep and crop farmers, plus some mining due to its proximity to the Godsrange Mountains. Spare resources that can be sold are sent to Trg.
There is nothing unique about Junstol, except that it is the last sizable village at the edges of the Republic and closest to Helsgate. However the village is very old, possibly being built shortly after the Mending. Since then it has been rebuilt as time ravages buildings, but not much has changed though the centuries. Its temple was built some 250 years ago, following work by the Cleric Saint Kaminski.
Junstol has one noble family but a foreign one at that. The Morretti's own a considerable amount of land around Junstol, and its claim to these titles dates back to before the republic introduced nationalization laws, but managed to negotiate continued control. The connections are tied to a notable family in Fiumri.
Junstol also has ties to the sole orc clan in all of Dezaria, the Aur. The Aur are nomadic but Junstol allows them to make use of the vacant land and forests in return for a minimal amount of tax and promise of protection if ever need be. This informal agreement extends to the lands owned by the Morrettis, as the late Juilio Moretti was quite progressive in terms of drawing people of all diversity together.
