The date is Thursday, 29th June
Tinnan decides to open the door to the south, no listening for this madman. This room is lined with bookcases, and on the floor is a large, ornate rug. An oil lamp rests on a small table of dark wood and a single, comfortable-looking wooden chair stands nearby. The walls are painted with scenes of magnificent underground caverns teaming with dwarves at work. As
Sigmund and
Tinnan move in, the furniture starts to animate and attacks!! We beat and batter the chair, table and carpet till all falls silent.
To the south appears to be a bedroom. As
Sigmund tries to bash open the chest, a dart shoots out, but he nimbly dodges. Within are some coins, potions and gemstones. During this time,
Fyren and
Chi go and scout the diagonal corridor to the north and find some stairs upwards. The passage continues till they find a fork. Meanwhile,
Sigmund explores the area next to the bedroom, finding a room that has "several tables and workbenches clutter this room and shelves line the walls. Scattered here and there are all sorts of papers, glass bottles, pottery jars, crates and barrels. Even hanging from the ceiling, are the desiccated remains of various plants and animals. On the central workbench is a large, empty birdcage." In one of the desks is a cunningly hidden magical compartment, which contains a wand and a scroll.
Back at the fork, the southern corridor is lit by what looks like magical fungi and the eastern fork ends in a large, rusty metal door which is barred from this side.
As we go to leave, a raven appears in the cage. It says it has been here for hundreds of years.
Fyren and
Idris let the raven free. The raven talks about a tentacle-bearded creature that was here searching for something 400 years ago.
We go past the barricade to the west and almost immediately combat begins against many
Grimlocks.
After a titanic battle, dark still water pools at the bottom of the stairs. Bits of broken timber and flotsam float on the surface. Further along, the passage descends another set of stairs and completely submerges beneath the water.
