Arcane Collective

Northwest off the continent of Elnevir in the Green sea lies the Great Tower of Mages, the home of the Arcane Collective. They are wizards and sorcerers that spend their time honing their magical prowess in order to climb the ranks and become stronger. As you quickly will learn, there is no wrong result, only failure to produce results. The Arcane Collective cares little for others then themselves only acting in order to preserve their way of life, growing stronger and learning new magi.   Only mages are allowed access to Great Tower of Mages and visitors are limited to its island. Only a handful of exceptions have been made for emperors and king. The restrictions of the towers make it so that few mages will ever see even a fraction of the entire tower. The upper floors are only accessible by higher ranking mages and several section are made for mages of all of the different schools of magic.

Structure

Within the Arcane Collective all mages are ranked by skill and their school of magic. The higher ranked mages are allowed more privileges such as access to information, locations and wealth. The following are the ranks and schools of magic:   novice, apprentice, expert, master, grand-master, arch-mage
abjuration, conjuration, divination, enchantment, evocation, illusion, necromancy, transmutation   In addition to the schools of magic, the guild members are also separated into artificer. Almost all of those who join the Arcane Collective will start off as a novice but some who have already practiced magic can become a higher rank. The title of novice to master can be given by any master while the title of grand-master is only given by the arch mage. When referring to rank you say the school of magic followed by the rank, evocationist expert, with the exception being the highest ranked members of each school of magic. For the highest ranked within each rank you say; master of divination, or whichever other school they are the highest rank of.
