Cliffshire

Cliffshire is a city rules by the Empire on the east coast of Centarium. It is a major trade hub for ships sailing through the area but has litte trade by caravan.

Demographics

Most people are either fishermen, farmers or miners. There is a large faction of dockworkers and a good selection of smiths. The town also have a large amount of priests and learned men that live in the city.

Government

The City is ruled by Finnur who is a older man with a firm sense of right and wrong, however now in his later years he is far less energetic and power has been lost to the temple and the harbor guild.

Defences

There is a outer wall with two gates and watchtowers along the wall. There is a steep mountain to the south that that is a natural barrier. There is a second wall on a small path up to the city hall with the mountain and a steep cliff creating barriers on either side. It is manned by troops all the time.

Industry & Trade

The trade of the town is spit up between a massive the marked at the docks selling fish and whatever tradeships bring and jewlery from the mines, mostly silver and brons.

Infrastructure

It has a large port for ships and a massive temple to the gods of the upper planes.

Guilds and Factions

The major faction is the "harbor guild". Trying to controll the pricing of the goods that are sold at the docks. The second guild is the "Protector's guild". A group of adventuring soldiers that take on enemies outside and inside the city that the city guard cant handle.

Architecture

The City is split up in three parts. The upper class is located next to the mountain and the buildings are made out of stone from it and they usually stand two to three stories tall. The middle class lives within the walls in smaller wodden housing with small comunity gardens in the middle of their housing areas. Outside the walls are farmhouses made out of wood and thatch roofs and barns for their animals. Next to the mine entrance is a small comunity living in large stone and wood housing with build for the miners to live in while they work.

Geography

The city lies in a bay with a massive mountain looming right next to it. The city follows the mountain upp untill it becomes to steep and from there you can look out over the entire city and see far beyond into the tolling hiss.
