Water Fields of Titaani
Sprawling swamps of central and southern Tuulet.
The waters are home to several tribes of grung, basilisks, shambling mounds, as well as the nomadic tribes who live on barges and navigate the twisting waterways.
The swamp water flows from the Black and Green Rivers, both of which flow from a common source at the center of the island known as the Golden Spring.
The Swamps were the site of the major battle during the cataclysm, in the final days of warring between the gods of Chaos, and those of Law. The proxies of Chaos, the Melniboneans lead by their general Jivan Al'Xzzt, had build a massive tower, the tower of pain, each floor of which was used to amplify different spells either defending their own troops, or launching offensive spells at the dwarfs and their massive walking war machines the titans that were spilling out of the nearby coastal mountains. Ultimately this lead to a stalemate: the dwarfs could never overcome the power weilded by Jivan Al'Xzzt, and the drow could never advance on the titan-defended strongholds of the dwarfs. Ultimately the dwarfs forged a new titan, 3 times the size of any prior war machine, and consecrated it to their god Clanggedin Silverbeard. Clanggedin in turn sent a piece of his essence into the titan, and lead the dwarfs towards the Melnibonean tower. Jivan Al'Xzzt, sensing iminant defeat, faced off singly against the avatar of Clanggedin, and using all of his arcane knowledge destroyed the titan, much of the dwarvish host, and the mountains they used for their strongholds.
The resulting cataclysm left a massive wasteland, leveling the mountains to a vast lowland barely above sea level.
At the end of the catalcysm, after Malyk (known as Aurioch to the ancient Drow) endowed an ancient, powerful chaotic beast with a portion of his divine essense, resulting in the fracturing of the world, Tuulet was left a free standing isle. For the first millenium of the modern age, the southern reaches of tuulet remained a barren rock pile, covered in little more than thorned creepers and inhabited mostly by lizards and beasts best suited to desert environs. While the north of Tuulet had arable land, lack of natural springs hampered food production. Sometime during the second millennium, a powerful eladrin from the Seelie Court of the Feywild began traveling Tuulet, and despaired at the southern wastes. Known as Ari-Ar, she vowed to forge a more close connection between the feywild and @tuulet in a hope to supply it with water enough to great arable land. She was, in part, thwarted. But her efforts resulted in the Golden Spring, from which two massive rivers now arise, near the center of the island. Their waters seeped out over the southern have of the isle, and over the ensuing 500 years, the water fields of titaani formed.
