Yndrya Province (Yin-dry-ya)
Geography
It’s mostly mountains all over, with the southeast area having the tallest range in the country. Over where the collection of lakes are is much flatter, with tinier hills. It used to be mountainous before the high elves terraformed the land with the help of the dragons to make a floating island.
Climate
Most of the province is very cold, with the most northern part being covered in snow year round. The south is much warmer, especially with the lava that’s constantly exposed to the surface.
History
After Banael Province was created, a small horde of dragons settled in West Jyalb to keep an eye on the lynç elves, especially after hearing rumours of planned attacks using the floating island they made for them. At first they merely claimed the land surrounding the elves and the volcano they created, until word got back to them on a full out surprise attack was supposed to take place at the Demon Embassy.
Lady Merthicz commanded the original dragons to interfere with their ambush, designating them as permanent guards for the elves after they became high elves. For their dedication to keep the Embassy safe, she rewarded the leader of the group, Yndrya, by making her Lady of the new province, as well as expanding their territory which caused quite a bit of tension from humans as they wanted their own land, and Merthicz took it away as part of their punishment.
Tourism
The Midwest, and the southeast are popular for people to visit.
The Midwest has the largest market in the world that will accept haggling, bartering, almost anything as payment. There’s even a hidden black market for liches and their thralls to convene.
The southeast holds the capital of West Jyalb, Dragnmouf, sitting atop an active volcano controlled by the dragons who live there. It’s open for anyone to visit, especially to admire the work the dragons put in to terraform the land to their needs. The whole castle is built into the mountain range, along with many residential homes. It’s also home to dragonmade obsidian, being much more durable than regular obsidian. It’s pricey to get, but very popular to buy there.
