Ulthriem Roliri
Kimar is a man of few words, gruff relying on his actions to speak for him.
Passable Elven(Sindarin).
Some Khuzan (Dwarven).
I love NPC the background, he looks very angry!
I found the scent, 'parfum naturel' to be hilarious. :D
Any reason for his hatred of Amor/Gul - morvin? Are you going to flesh this it?
Does he have magical weapons or that nifty Dwarven Oil and whetstone?
As to languages, the Khuzan normally keep their tongue secret, I would switch it to the following:
Yes, I will expand his background, likely with the lower-level PC group, but an Almorvus killed his Kuboran mother and siblings. A future adventure/plot point I have planned will involve this creature. He did spend some time guarding the silver way while training and interacted with the Dwarves, picking up a few words, and has a whetstone and special ammunition for his Dwarven crossbow he will use next session. My one regret is on the VTT I used, I introduced this character many sessions ago using a picture without the Kuboran facial scars. I wish I had included them. My second regret is I keep forgetting to use the Oil.
Harn cannon has noted that Dwarves are not big bow users, I would expect a Pilum to be more their speed. You may have a third regret, I have been working up my notes on the right to bear arms, and the following is pretty much a direct quote from HarnPlayer
Gentlefolk consider certain weapons to be dishonorable. No gentle person would carry a bow; they are cowardly weapons and gentlefolk are not cowards. Bows are weapons that kill at long range and a true gentleperson fights only hand to hand, face to face with their adversary.
Although gentlefolk consider bows beneath their personal dignity, they do recognize the tactical advantages and are more than willing to accept the presence of properly disciplined longbowmen, as at least skill is required to use a longbow. Most knights deem it inappropriate for archers to target an shoot at knights, this sets a poor precedent, simplefolk killing gentlefolk.
The gentry loathe crossbows. Crossbows are a coward's weapon; used by assassins, murderers, thieves and the occasional hunter with a warped sense of sportsmanship. Crossbows are never to be used by a gentleperson and rarely by a simple soldier of 'good virtue'. Bearing any form of crossbow is likely to be met with a violent challenge by any noble.
I somewhat deviated from cannon, letting the PCs wander around with swords, bow, and the like. It helps the game flow rather than constantly make deceptions to get weapons through the city gates. Sometimes you have to compromise for fun, but it makes it all the more enjoyable for everyone when I impose weapon restrictions in special areas. In my world, Dwarves would never use a bow, an elves weapon. Hence, they have invented numerous versions of the crossbow, liking the mechanical nature of these weapons. They are the only source for heavy crossbows and the odd custom hand crossbow. This character has a link to the dwarves hence the crossbow being his primary ranged weapon.
Fair enough, I plan to get around this by having the PCs be retainers of a noble.
Likewise, in practice currently within my game, the PC Athena is a noble, and a knight, so has fewer limitations. The rest of the Party can be considered retainers as well.
