Kliagragon Donir - the Sword that Devours

The Legend

After the Battle of Sorrows over fourteen hundred years ago, King Aranath abdicated the rule of Hârn to the humans and withdraws to the Elven Forest.

This was considered a great betrayal by many, including one renown Dwarven weapon crafter. Isiloar of Clan Konginaar was so enraged at this perceived betrayal he swore he would bring vengeance. He was not alone. Many among the Elves, the Morsindari, who later became the Dark Elves or Drow, also felt betrayed by their King. Together they forged a weapon which would lay waste to all their enemies, both Human and Elf alike. The Kliagragon Donir - the Sword that Devours.

The Demon Klyss, the Necromancer, Morgaths chief agent, was said to be intrigued with the project and, as is was being completed, gave the weapon the touch of the Shadow of Bukrai. Anyone who wielded its soul will be consumed by darkness, replaced by corruption, and be forever victorious in war. The evil plot was uncovered, and the horrified Dwarves sealed the weapon away forever, under earth and stone, deep under the Izora Mines. Isiloar Konginaar is said to have died defending his weapon.

Spread

The knowledge of this Item was purged from all Dwarven records but persisted in the oral history of Clan Konginaar and its descendants. These Clans are said to have the touch of Kylss, and many are believed to have dark magics tainting their bloodlines.

The Morsindari have not forgotten this weapon.

Legendary Weapon Properties

It is unclear if this weapon was ever wielded. It is reputed to have been able to;

  • Drain the soul of the wielder and replace it with the Shadow of Bukrai. It is not known if this occurs after a touch or when used in combat.
  • Anyone slain by this weapon soul would be consumed by the weapon. After each death, the weapon and its wielder will grow stronger.
  • The wielder will lead armies and be forever victorious, despite the odds.

These claims may have been exaggerations.  However the weapon has been exorcised and the powerful demonic entity dwelling in it removed (refer Session 82 - The Demon in the Sword). It is still and a very dangerous evil artifact and is currently secured in a the Argent Order vault in the Abbey of St Andrada.
