The Orders primarily role is engaged in promoting Ilvirian pilgrimages to Araka-Kala by offering their temple as a hostel to pilgrims.
It also products beautifully illustrated Ilvirian holy texts for the faithful.
However, its clerics seem much more interested in exploring the ruins of the long lost City of Kelapyn-Anuz that lie beneath Tashal. They are seeking lost relics, especially the holy book the "The Scant Illumination of Vision." Unfortunately, this has brought them into conflict with underworld monsters, thieves, and Navean Assassins.
History
113TR - The Order of the Yellow Hand was formed from a loose collection of various minor Ilvirian orders as a response to the brutal conquests of Lothrim the Foulspawner.
121TR - When word that Lothrim's Orc army is defeated, the Priests of the Order of the Yellow Hand lead an uprising overthrowing Lothrim's warlord lieutenants. The Order begins its the long-term quest to recover holy relics hidden in the cites underworld by Lothrim's agents.
128TR - The Yellow Hand supports the warlord Shala Eith who proclaimed himself the King of Kephria. King Shala was a brutal tyrant, however, he did offer protection and religious freedom to Jarinese and Ilvirian worshipers.
Mythology & Lore
The Order of the Yellow Hand believes that Lothrim the Foulspawner secured a tome, the mysterious "The Scant Illumination of Vision," sacred to Ilvir in the old City of Kelapyn-Anuz. The ruins Kelapyn-Anuz lie beneath the current City of Tashal. This book deals with Ilvir's citadel of Araka-Kalai which exists both on this world and the magical plane of Yashain, world of the Gods.
