Session 091 - The Ancient and Deep Ways

8th to 27th of Nolus (First Month of Summer) 722TRThe story so far
Acheron is traveling to the Dwarven Kingdom of Azadmere to collect Magical Silver Swords for the Argent Order. He will also get one made for himself for his use in the battle against the forces of darkness.
The continuation of Session 90 - The Kingdom of the Dwarves.
Location - The Silver Way, Trade Route Between Kingdom of Kaldor and the Kingdom of Azadmere.
Part 1 - The Weapon Master
The heroes travel along the good Dwarven roads from the Fortress of Zerhun to the City of Azadmere. Passing through the large and prosperous Barony of Habe they observe the colorful mix of ancient Jarinese culture and modern or advanced construction technologies. Shrines to the God Ilvir and Siem are found in most villages.
When they arrive at the highly fortified City of Azadmere, their guide Signam takes them to the Weaponmaster and Historian Korgrit Kemroth. The owner of the Grey Arsenal is a creator and collector of unusual weapons. Almost every conceivable melee or range weapons are on display. He is currently working on a repeating heavy crossbow and chain weapon with a spiked ball on one end, a blade on the other.Sabretooth purchases a set of silver knuckle dusters from him and the design plans of a Boomerang.
Korgrit is very interested in Avon's weaponry. He inspects his Elven made Rapier but is much more interested in his Hand Crossbow. This antique weapon is well over a thousand years old and was found in the Izora Mines. Avon accepts his offer to swap it with a newer model with some ammunition.
Part 2 - The Silver Weapon Forger
Signam then introduces Acheron to Kirinza Hazadul, owner of the Argentate Griffin and Weapon-Forger for the Argent Order for nearly a century. Kirinza has perfected a magical process enabling bladed weapons to be crafted from layers of Steel and Silver.Kirinza has agreed to forge Acheron a sword and questions which magical properties Acheron would like to have it imbued with. He decides on the ability to appear where he is not and gives Kirinza his bottles of Displacer Beast Blood to work into the forging. Acheron would like his sword called Nemesis. The forging is expected to take several months.
The Weaponsmith also agrees to repair and sharpen the damaged Silversword, Quicksilver, which Acheron currently wields. Acheron inspects the Silver Swords Kirinza has already forged for his Order. They are named Silver Echo, Sculptor, Reckoning, and Nightfall. These will be entrusted to Acheron's care at a later date.
Part 3 - Meeting at the Temples
Next, the Heroes visit the Graymere Hall of the Inner Eye. This large building has multiple chambers and shrines dedicated to most of the non-evil Human Gods.
Quazzy visits the Chamber of Sav K'Nor, which is a monument to knowledge with many hundred valuable and ancient books. It currently cared for by the elderly blind Dwarven Librarian Skamdonlim. Quazzy spends weeks immersed in the ancient wisdom before leaving the Party and returning to join her friend Athena and Yureb in the Kingdom of Rethem.
Acheron meets with Randel Dyvons, the Priest at the Shrine of Larani. Randel is pleased to see Acheron has at last arrived and may have a job suitable for his talents. True to his word, a couple of weeks later, Randel meets with the Party, and they are joined by the Druid Morlais, from the adjacent Shrine of Siem, the God of Nature. The Heroes learn over the Sorkin Mountains to the various east Herds of Centaurs roam. These noble creatures have a dualistic religion worshiping primal versions of the Gods Larani and Siem. The Druid Moralis is concerned, one of his Order, the Druid Viozhul has returned from the west changed, now worshiping the evil god Morgath. His hair has turned white, and he has begun corrupting the horsemen.Worse, he is said to have created some evil undead nightmare horse, which Acheron identifies as a Kulming. Acheron and the Party are asked to investigate and to deal with this evil.
Location - The Deep Ways, Secret Underground Passages East of the Kingdom of Azadmere.
Part 4 - The Deep Ways
Dwarven Guards escort the Heroes through the so-called Deep Ways, a series of underground tunnels east under the Sorkin Mountains. Opening a large stone door, the guards inform the Party that they are not far from the surface, and they are on their own from now on.
Traveling down the passage they are met by a hideous monster, a rare form of Ivashu called the Blemmyes. Sabretooth attempts communication, in Ivashi, offering some dried scraps of dry meat. The headless humanoid creature is insulted by the poor gift and immediately attacks with its huge mouth, set in its chest, and club. Sabertooth's companion Chameleo temporarily blinds it with a venom spit into its eyes. The Party finishes it off before it could recover. However, the combat attracts the attention of some nearby malevolent Fungi Monsters. Both Sabretooth and Sigam are overwhelmed by clouds of toxic spores and quickly fall unconscious. A well-placed poisonous punch from one of these Deathcap Myconid nearly kills Acheron. However, Fungi men are eventually destroyed.
Near the exit of the Party finds hidden under ancient barrels five potions in old jars. These ancient alchemical preparations have quirky properties.
Red liquid - Potion of Inner Fire. The drinker feels hot, and his blood boils, giving resistance to fire, and when struck in combat, he will burn the attacker.
Purple Liquid - This a blood thinner making the drinker vulnerable to slashing damage.
Clear Liquid - A highly potent clear tasteless magical alcohol.
Milky Grey - This potion small potion barely a mouthful increased Avon's strength permanently.
Clear with coppery chunks - Not Identified.
