Bronna MacGregor
Lady Bronna MacGregor
Deceased mother of Dhowgok and spouse of Daihl MacGregor. She was one of the leaders of Bar Rorkred, an Orc settlement north of the Gallymoore Mountains and south of Winterglen.
Bar Rorkred has trade relations with the elves of Winterglen and trade with the humans who come to their port. Within the settlement, it is almost completely orc women, most of which are looking to mate with any men who come by.
The reason for this is because centuries ago, Balor of the Evil Eye entered the Isles from a fey portal within the Gallymoore Mountains. A terrible and fierce warrior that led armies of Formorians, he was nigh indestructable. However, he could be killed only by one of his own blood. Upon hearing this, Balor slew all of his children, except for one who escaped his wrath. The orcs or Bar Rorkred are descendants of Balor. This is known to the clan leaders, as well as the elves of Winterglen. The orcs send unending waves of warriors to hold back the formorians who enter through the Gallymoore Mountains. However, to keep the bloodline flowing, the women stay behind to have children, mating with any that they can find to create new men to war, and new women to continue the bloodline. The elves realize that it is these orcs that keep Balor from returning, so they supply the village with weapons to ensure that they can continue to fight. However, may generations of inbreeding has caused infertility to be an ongoing problem with the continuation of the bloodline.
Bronna and her sisters, Tumizar, Anime, and Arati, were the purest of the bloodline, and Bronna was expected to keep up the bloodline, but she fell in love with Daihl MacGregor as he visited the town. She ended up running off with him and marrying him and entering minor nobility, eventually bearing their daughter, Dhowgok, though Bronna died in childbirth. She seemed to show the least effect from the generations of inbreeded and she was the only fertile member of the sisters with the strongest bloodline.
