Gallymoore Mountains
The Gallymoore Mountains stand as a formidable and rugged range, forming the natural northern border of the Kingdom of Kildare. To the east lies Boora Bog, and to the west stretches the fey-enchanted waters of Myrloch. The peaks of the Gallymoore Mountains are jagged and steep, frequently cloaked in thick clouds that seem to pulse with an ancient and ominous energy.
These mountains are plagued by the menace of fomorian giants, cruel and twisted beings that emerge from The Feywild through a portal located deep within the range. These giants are led by the formidable King Balor of the Evil Eye, a tyrant who rules his kingdom from the Feywild but constantly sends his monstrous legions through the portal to wreak havoc on the mortal world. Balor's gaze is said to bring doom, and his influence makes the Gallymoore Mountains a treacherous and cursed place.
Holding back this giant threat are the Orc warriors of Bar Rorkred, a fierce and proud village located just north of the Gallymoore Mountains, within the Kingdom of Down. These orcs, descended from Balor’s bloodline, have taken up the task of preventing the fomorians from spilling into the world. Their entire culture revolves around the ancient prophecy that only one of Balor's own kin can kill him, which drives the orcs to preserve their bloodline and one day produce a champion that will end Balor’s reign.
The orcs of Bar Rorkred, known for their prowess in battle and their tireless vigilance, constantly patrol the mountains, engaging in skirmishes with the fomorians. Their warriors are renowned for their use of brutal, efficient combat techniques, as well as their deep connection to the land and their ancestors. Despite their grim duty, the orcs take pride in their heritage and remain fiercely independent, often engaging in their own internal struggles while maintaining their sacred charge against the giants.
The Gallymoore Mountains are a place of harsh beauty, with towering cliffs, hidden valleys, and deep, shadowy caverns. Many believe the mountains are home to ancient secrets, treasures, and lost relics of bygone eras, but only the brave or foolish venture deep within, knowing the risk of encountering the fomorians or the orcish patrols.
