Kigdarihm

The dwarven citadel of Kigdarigm, located in the southern part of the Groundsgrunn Mountains within the Kingdom of Hrafnel, is a formidable stronghold and the capital of the dwarven territories on the Isle of Hrafnel. Kigdarigm is not only a center of dwarven power and industry, but it is also home to a bustling port, making it one of the few dwarven citadels in the Moontide Isles with direct maritime access.   The citadel itself is carved deep into the mountainside, its grand halls and towering stone pillars displaying the unmatched craftsmanship of the dwarves. The interior of Kigdarigm is a labyrinth of vast chambers, armories, forges, and living quarters, all designed with both practicality and elegance in mind. The forges of Kigdarigm are legendary, producing some of the finest weapons, armor, and metalwork in the region, all powered by the molten heart of the mountain. These goods are traded with the rest of Hrafnel and beyond, with many ships leaving the citadel’s port loaded with dwarven wares.   Kigdarigm’s port is a unique feature among dwarven strongholds. Positioned at the base of the citadel where the mountain meets the sea, the port is a vital link for trade and travel between the dwarven territories and the other isles. It allows Kigdarigm to maintain strong economic ties with the outside world, especially with the Northlander settlements along the coast and other dwarven citadels across the Moontide Isles.   Kigdarigm is also the seat of King Thelgrod Warmhelm, a respected ruler who is recognized as the leader not only by the dwarves of Hrafnel but by many of the other dwarven strongholds across the Moontide Isles. His reign is marked by stability, strength, and a deep commitment to the dwarven way of life. King Thelgrod’s influence extends beyond the isle, with other dwarven leaders often deferring to his wisdom and leadership in matters concerning trade, defense, and relations with the Northlander kingdoms.   The dwarves of Kigdarigm, like many of their kin across the isles, maintain a strong connection to the Old Gods, particularly Ctenmillar, The Forge, Midone, The Merchantfriend, and Sucellus, The Bountiful. Temples and shrines dedicated to these deities are scattered throughout the citadel, where dwarves offer prayers and sacrifices for prosperity in their work and protection for their people.   The citadel's strategic location in the Groundsgrunn Mountains provides a natural defense against external threats, and the dwarven armies stationed within Kigdarigm are renowned for their discipline and skill in battle. While the citadel enjoys relative peace, its warriors are always prepared to defend the dwarven territories and their allies, making Kigdarigm a cornerstone of security in Hrafnel and the surrounding region.   Kigdarigm stands as a beacon of dwarven strength, culture, and leadership, its influence extending far beyond the Groundsgrunn Mountains and cementing its place as the heart of dwarven power in the Moontide Isles.
