Whitelands
The Kingdom of In the Roaming Hills, named after the region in which it is located, White Hills Whiteland is one of the 13 kingdoms of Morteron. Nicknamed due to the appearance of their hills in the morning when they are covered in mist. It is the region occupies the Whitehills . It has been ruled by the ruled by the Arias family family out of the capital city of Whitehill.
Structure
What is known as the Whiteland was conquered by Emma Arias during the founding of the 13 kingdoms. Thus all cities answer to the Arias monarch and their council. Technically the monarach does have power to command the whittian cities as desired. However their strict moral code and sense of justice has lead most leaders to a strict but fair policy. The Arias monarach and council tend to spend most of their power to protect the whitelands from foreign powers and uphold justice. They also work to maintain collective alliance of the cities for defense and to distribute resources as needed. They also tend to act as a judge to settle any disputes.
Succession of the monarach is passed down to the eldest full blood of the royal line. The rule out of capital city of Whitehill the central city of the White lands.
History
Before the Era of the Salionus Kingdom The whitehills were a mix of various militant religious groups and cities. During the Salionous expansion it was one of the first regions conquered by Everest Sailon. Then during the Era of the Sailon Empires the area of the Whitehills were spilt between the Crusian Empire in the southern regions and the Avatiento Empire in the north.
The unification of what is known as the Whitelands began with Emma Arias. She was initially from the area but was chased out by corrupt family members. In her Banishment she assisted Malachai Vargraven to spark rebellion in the blacklin regions. However, as their movement gained momentum Emma returned to the White hills to to free her hometown and get justice on for her family. Then with the fall of the Crusian Empire she led the effort to push against the northern border with the crumbling Avatiento Empire. Eventually her conquests settle on what is now the whitelands. With her influence and power she established House Arias as a royal house that could manage the white hills from its centralized capital a Whitehill.
Demography and Population
The influence of Arias Values and the various religions fostered peoples with a high sense of morality and need for justice. They are a proud people are are willing and capably of fighting for what they belive in. This kingdom has a high population of angels, mages, gargoyles, Kaidori, Zephien,Tuars, and Negias
Territories
Whitelands covers the west central area of Morteron. They occupy most of the land known as the White Hills. To the north is the kingdom of Springia. To the west is the Godset Sea. To the south is the Blacklin and Autumia Kingdoms . To the east is the Hollien Kingdom.
