Structure

The Blacklin Cities mostly operate separately under different noble houses called Barons. However they act as a unified voice to any foreign kingdoms. To insure this a monarch is choosen from the Vargraven bloodline by the previous monarch. The monarch acts more as a meditator between the cities and deals with the foreign affairs. The monarch also has the power to forcibly command the cities in times of war or for the benefit of the kingdom as a whole. However, rarely does the Varagraven have its subject as most of the Blacklin cities are deeply loyal and trusting to the Varagraven due to their generations of success.   The Vargraven monarch is also a baron that rules out of the city of Blackstone. From this city the monarch and their advisors can monitor and maintain comunication between the Blackin cities.

History

Before the Era of the Salionus Kingdom The Blackland mounatains were a realtively a peaceful. However this was mostly due to the moutains the kept the various cities isolated in their individual valleys. Even during the Salionus expansion, only the northern regions were even reached. However that all changed when the Crusian Empire began is conquest. The empire was able to defeat the cities separately and bring them under control. Anyone that tried to rebell was swiftly crushed and destoryed.   However the destruction of the city of Bilton sparked a new foe for the empire. The fall of Bilton ended up motivating Malachai Varagraven to journey to the nexus according to a prophecy. This demigod mage would participate in the Convergence Barrier Ritual tha would seal off Morteron from the rest of the planet. Malachai would then return to the Blackland mouatin with his ally Emma Arias. There they resparked the revoultion. Emma would eventually lead the rebellion north to the whitelands and Malachai would inspire the revolution of the Blackland mountains. Malachai and the rebellion realized they could use the Crusian Empire network to unify the cities against the foreign empire.   With coordinated coperation the Native blacklands peoples expelled the crusian empire from their homes. The the empire officaly fell when the Last Crusian emperor was killed by Malachai. In their victory the blacklin cities realized they were one of the most forminable force on the ctient when they all brought their resources together. Thus they decided to form an alliance so that the blackland would be protect against forign conquest. They further decide to elect the Vargraven bloodline to serve as a monarch that would preserve the alliance.
