Professor Irfan
One of the oldest professors at the school, Professor Irfan teaches Psychology/Business with an almost prophetic knowledge of human behavior and how to profit from it.
Graduates would go on to become entrepreneurs, executives, investors, business owners, economists, stock brokers, marketers, insurance adjusters & middle management in the cogs of industry.
Irfan's mindset represents the predatory nature of capitalism on the primal needs of the human mind. And it's through exploiting these primal needs on a micro/macro economic level that a thrifty entrepreneur will make their fortune.
Most of the student body at Houndsmoth Manor believes Irfan is the real Mr. Houndsmoth, due to his level of social maneuvering, near psychic knowledge of its residents' motives & conniving nature in convincing others to act against their own self-interests.
However, Irfan has several striking differences from the headmaster. Irfan has a definitive visage, far more reactive, and he's the only one to benefit from his scheming.
His defiance of the headmaster's plans tend to put him at odds with the other professors, most of them leery of his true intentions. This is especially true with Professor Serena and her philosophy of "Equivalent Exchange of Services."
In Season 1, while Silas Yamane pays off her debt to Serena, Irfan introduces Silas to the reality of the actual medical industry and how unsustainable Serena's philosophy is in practice. It's in our nature to need an incentive to achieve or buy a product/service that benefits both parties.
This only in Season 2, that Irfan's plans for the school come to fruition.
During Houndsmoth:
