The Reading Challenge. The time when we read a bunch of Summer Camp articles and talk about our favourites. Most of my first Summer Camp was spent writing and reading other people's stuff. And I've found lots of great articles and new worlds written by talented people!

So without further ado, let's get into it.

Amazing Articles

Sugiramun

NimrodialLibrary (or Nincho on Discord) is a very talented writer who knows how to write interesting characters; this one is no different.
Sugiramun is incredibly tragic; he did something terrible, putting his wife and newborn through unimaginable pain yet seeks to atone for his actions.
Even though I hated what he did, I still felt bad for the guy and I can't wait to see what the future holds for him. You'll feel the same too.
(Small side note: Her character articles inspired the layout of mine)

A sweet little place where adorable little Pingus live! The settlement's lovely atmosphere is fuelled by the multitude of tuxedoed critters who enthusiastically greet visitors. You're sure to feel welcome here!
Sh4d0wPh031x's love for penguins knows no bounds and this article is an example of this.

Planktonic Storm

Imagine this: you and your friend are chilling in a field. Everything is nice and peaceful. You then turn to your friend only to find them lifeless on the ground clutching their throat.
That's how these storms strike.
Mochi takes the idea of millions of microorganisms floating around in your mouth and suffocating you and turns it into a deadly storm that must not be taken lightly.

Lin Vu

Lin Vu is a young boy who had a difficult childhood and dealt with their father's absence, leading them to take on a similar role. One day, however, they were invited to America to become a spy at W.I.L.L.O.W.I.S.P. There, they became a respected leader and member, earning the respect of everyone there. But then...something happened to him...
Wordigirl excelled at writing an interesting character with a rooted backstory. (I wonder what happened to them)

Teeth?

Why...just why...

I wanted to scream, rip my hair out, nuke these abominations and launch them into the stratosphere (but their surprising cuteness, fortunately, spared them).
This has to be my favourite Istralar article due to how unhinged it is XD. Han did such a good job writing these things. Highly recommend.

Tikijitoa - Ceremony of Ashes

A beautiful and heartfelt Layikani funeral tradition honouring the dead and the opening short story is sure to tug at your heartstrings.

Blue Fairy is a master at writing gorgeous and grounded cultural traditions and adding layers of symbolism, in this case, the different colours of scarfs used depending on the status of the deceased (a very nice touch).

The Withering

I'll just say it: this is simply the most beautiful article I could ever set my eyes on.
The Withering tells of a devastating disaster that shook multiple realms, completely changed their environments and brought them to their knees. Yet even with the hardships, the inhabitants of these realms don't lose hope, banding together, helping each other and pushing through the nightmare.
The story is inspiring, the 8-bit style of the world is very cool and the music accompanying your reading is just *chef's kiss*

Hallucigenia, or Alan, creates a vibrant area where one can enjoy delicious, authentic cuisine while being entertained by tales enhanced by illusions and instrumentals. The folk music present in the article is a very cool addition!

Dead

"The Dead enjoy quiet and stillness." Sounds like me XD.
The Dead are beings with no pulse (kinda obvious) and Haly does a great job highlighting how these beings go about their day and what they do in one short write-up. And, they're a real mood!
