Three Peaks
A Land All Our Own
CobaltDM - October 20, 2022
Three Peaks is a region in the southernmost corner of
The Nassa Archipelago. Ruled by a disgraced noble from
The Isatisian Confederacy known as Lord Ahray Namira, the faction began as a peaceful settlement away from the bureaucracy of the Confederacy after the island's former
Lizardfolk inhabitants were driven out by
The Renegades and the
Twin Moons clan. Since their colonization, however, Lord Namira's followers have found enemies for neighbors and strange mysteries in the mountains towering over their home.
Enemies Abound
Mere months after his exile from Elatestias, Lord Namira was rapidly forced to empty his coffers to hire mercenaries to defend his new home from the raids of nearby pirate factions. Primarily faced with the desperate Renegades and the Twin Moons as threats, the banished lord found all efforts at diplomacy met with the deaths of his diplomats. The island was fortified and supply lines were established with sympathetic traders in Isyandel and Polum. After beating back two raids that weakened the Renegades enough to lose much of their territory to
The Black Reapers, the new settlement has found peace.
A Haven for Refugees
With the current political and religious climate coming to an uncomfortable tension in Isatis, the town of Crotai has become a popular destination for fleeing families. Lord Namira has offered sanctuary for all those displaced or unwanted by their homelands, generously offering food and shelter until those able to work can find their footing once more. This reputation for benevolence and history of effective protection has increased the lord's popularity substantially, resulting in a steadily growing, loyal settlement.
The Mountains' Gifts
Shortly after Lord Namira's successful defense of the budding Crotai, he found himself running low on funds. Miraculously, one of the parties he sent out to scout the island discovered a lucrative gem mine buried within the base of the largest mountain, seemingly abandoned many years before. These gems have provided the finances necessary to take in more refugees and keep the town defended, but strange stories have begun to spread of spirits haunting the streets and attacking miners despite Lord Namira's best efforts to suppress them. Most disregard these tales as superstition, but there are some who swear by their testimonies.
