To the east of the Gwassten, tucked between The Bite in the north and the Northern Rachis Range to the west, lies a deep valley. As one travels into this drizzly valley, the mountains surround you, making you feel tiny by comparison. Warm air from the northwest, and cold air from the mountains, mix overhead into semi-permanent light rainfall that lattices the area with streams and rivers to feed into the Tafod River. The river, which cuts through the valley like a tongue, is fast and extremely deep. Many travelers make the trek to the Throat to hunt the many different species of beasts that roam this rich, underdeveloped valley.
