Mal'Haran

Mal'Haran (named after it's discoverer, who was in turn named after his home province) is a material which can be refined down into pure Connection. Exactly how this process works is a closely guarded secret, all that is known is that the Honoured Guard in Ran'Haldin go to great lengths to keep it this way.
As the substance is the only way of producing Essence without turning vast numbers of people into Greys, it is highly valuable.
