Self Pulling Carriages

The invention of self pulling carriages was one of the first truly significant breakthroughs to come from the development of Essence. They tend of have the appearance of typical horse drawn carriages, except without the horses. The carriages are instead powered by essence Engines, which result in much faster and more efficient transportation.
The creation of these vehicles has changed the design of cities, with roads having significantly larger and wider roads to allow for the increased amount of traffic. This is especially true in highly gentrified locations such as Luminessa and Cretin's Gate. Although the carriages are not as expensive as one would imagine - with smaller and slower versions costing as little as 20 suns - they are not available for most lower class families.
All types of self pulling carriages spit out a small layer of yellow Essence dust, and many of societies lowest make their living as Essence Sweepers, collecting the leftovers from the street to be resold.
